Shimla/New Delhi, Aug. 2 -- In a significant move to revive the ailing Himachal Pradesh Congress unit ahead of the upcoming Panchayati Raj elections, party leader Rahul Gandhi has called a crucial meeting of senior state leaders in New Delhi.
The central leadership of the party is concerned over the absence of an active organisational structure in Himachal since November 2024, when the All India Congress Committee (AICC) dissolved the state unit.
The meeting will be held on August 4 and is expected to deliberate on key organisational matters, comprising the formation of a new Pradesh Congress Committee team, appointment of the next state Congress president, filling a vacant cabinet post, and fresh appointments in boards and corporations.
