Gonda, Sept. 17 -- Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former MP Brijbhushan Sharan Singh today sarcastically remarked that Leader of the Opposition and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi is more popular in Pakistan because his statements are widely heard there.
Responding to Pakistani cricketer Afridi's praise of Rahul Gandhi after the Asia Cup, Singh said that Rahul has been scoring 'own goals' ever since entering politics. "Only Rahul himself can understand his views within the country," he added.
On the issue of alleged vote theft, Singh dismissed the opposition's claims as "nonsense", stating that he is involved in spreading baseless allegations.
