Ranchi, Oct. 4 -- The scheduled hearing of the case involving Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, could not take place today at the MP-MLA Special Court in Chaibasa, West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand.
The matter pertains to an alleged objectionable remark against BJP leader Amit Shah.
Rahul Gandhi had filed a petition under Section 205 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), seeking exemption from personal appearance in the case.
The court was expected to pronounce its decision on the application today.
However, due to the judge being on leave, the hearing was postponed. The next date of hearing has now been fixed for October 9.
