Peravoor, Feb. 26 -- Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Thursday addressed the 'Karshaka Sangamam (Farmers Convention)' at Peravoor in Kerala, describing farmers as the "foundation of India" and accusing the Centre of undermining their interests through a proposed trade deal with the United States.
Welcoming state leaders, including K C Venugopal, Sunny Joseph, K Sudhakaran and Shafi Parambil, Gandhi said that across the country, farmers continue to face persistent challenges, from price insecurity and lack of storage facilities to rising instances of man-animal conflict.
