Pune, April 30 -- Pune's prestigious BJ Medical College has formed an anti-ragging inquiry committee after a student's parents approached the Mantralaya -- the administrative headquarters of the Maharashtra government -- alleging ragging and inaction by the college authorities.

The college conducted an inquiry into the ragging case after a directive from the Mantralaya, sources said. According to the complaint, a junior resident doctor in the orthopedic department of BJ Medical College complained to the college administration that three senior resident doctors were ragging him.

The college has now formed an anti-ragging inquiry committee and has also assured the authorities that strict action would be taken against the accused.
