New York, Aug. 27 -- Former champion Emma Raducanu and 2024 semifinalist Emma Navarro both advanced to the third round of the US Open with dominant straight-set wins here on Wednesday.

Raducanu, the 2021 title winner, brushed aside Indonesian qualifier Janice Tjen 6-2, 6-1 in just an hour at the Louis Armstrong Stadium. Seeded 36, she fired 37 of 47 first serves in and dictated play with precision from the baseline, extending her season-best tally to 26 wins.
