Ranchi, Sept. 4 -- BJP national general secretary and MP Dr. Radhamohan Agarwal today attacked the Hemant Soren-led Jharkhand government, saying that if it cannot provide relief to people it should step down.

Addressing a press conference here, Agarwal said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fulfilled his promises by slashing GST rates despite a revenue loss of around Rs 50,000 crore.

"On the other hand, the Hemant government is crying over a Rs 2,000 crore shortfall and opposing the move," he remarked.

He said the union government has never made excuses about a lack of funds, even as the global growth rate hovers at 3 percent compared to India's 7.8 percent in the last quarter.
