Aizawl, April 13 -- With the outbreak of rabies in neighbouring Churachandpur district of Manipur, dog owners in Aizawl are rushing to get their pets vaccinated, prompting authorities to intensify preventive measures.
As many as 330 dogs have been administered anti-rabies vaccines in the past four days at the Mizoram Polyclinic Hospital for Animals, operated by the state's Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Department, sources said on Sunday.
According to hospital records, the number of vaccinations steadily rose over the week-20 dogs were inoculated on Monday, followed by 63 on Tuesday, 105 on Wednesday, and 141 on Friday.
