Rabada, Rickelton shine in big South Africa win
Karachi, Feb. 21 -- Ryan Rickelton's maiden ODI century powered South Africa to a comprehensive 107-run victory over Afghanistan in their opening encounter of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy at the National Stadium here on Friday.
Opting to bat first, South Africa posted a formidable 315/6 in 50 overs, built on Rickelton's fluent 103 off 106 balls, well-supported by half-centuries from Rassie van der Dussen (52 off 46) and Aiden Markram (52 off 36). The Afghan spinners struggled to contain the Proteas' batting charge despite Mohammad Nabi's early breakthrough.
