Manila, Oct. 10 -- An offshore earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 7.6 struck Davao Oriental province in the southern Philippines on Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported.
In a report, the institute said that the quake, which occurred at 9:43 a.m. local time (0143 GMT), struck at a depth of 10 kilometers, approximately 62 kilometers east of Manay.
