New Delhi/Moscow, Aug. 7 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin will visit India and the dates have been ''almost finalised,'' National Security Advisor Ajit Doval said today.

''We are excited and delighted to learn about the visit of His Excellency President Putin to India. I think the dates have almost been finalised now,'' Mr Doval said in Moscow.

He, however, did not give a date for the meeting. President Putin is expected to travel to New Delhi later this year for the annual India-Russia summit.

Mr Doval said more important is that the Summit meetings have always been a watershed. ''We are committed, as you are committed, to the fight against terrorism,'' he said.
