New Delhi, Dec. 5 -- With Russian President Vladimir Putin in the capital on a two-day state visit, security has been beefed up, causing traffic disruptions for commuters on Friday.

This is President Putin's first visit to India since the outbreak of the Ukraine war. Security has also been tightened in the light of Babri Masjid demolition anniversary on December 6 and anniversary of the Parliament attack on December 13.

According to police sources, a high-security grid will be set up along the routes used by Putin's convoy and around the hotel where he will be staying.
