Tirupati, July 2 -- The annual Pushpayagam was conducted with traditional religious fervour at Sri Govindaraja Swamy Temple here on Wednesday evening.
Earlier from 9.30 AM to 11.30 AM, Snapana Tirumanjanam was performed on the deities.
Later from 1 PM to 4 PM, the Pushpayagam ritual was conducted amidst the Vedic chants and traditional music.
As a mark of atonement for any lapses in rituals during annual Brahmotsavams or daily sevas, this ritual was performed to waive off sins.
Around three tons of 12 varieties of flowers and six types of leaves were used.
The donated flowers were from devotees hailing from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka.
