Kolkata, Nov. 24 -- The second edition of the Purvodaya Literary Festival unfolded on Monday at the Satyajit Ray Auditorium, ICCR, ushering in a spirited celebration of literature, art, performances and intellectual exchange.
The five-day fest will end on November 28.
Inaugurating the festival, West Bengal Governor V. Ananda Bose emphasised the sustained role of literature and culture in shaping society, inspiring intellectual inquiry, and nurturing human values.
"The first poem in human history speaks of environmental consciousness, the love of birds, the love of nature," he observed, quoting Valmiki's Ma Nishada (a shloka from Ramayana).
