Bhubaneswar, Jan. 3 -- The declaration of Puri as a metropolitan city is set to bring comprehensive, planned urban development to the temple town and its surrounding areas, said State Housing and Urban Development Minister Krushna Chandra Mahapatra.
Addressing a press conference on Saturday, the Minister said the Puri Metropolitan Region will encompass adjoining areas, where a detailed Town Planning (TP) scheme will be implemented to ensure systematic and sustainable urban growth.
The plan includes the development of multipurpose market complexes, parks, open spaces, and adequate parking facilities.
