Chandigarh, April 20 -- In a decisive action against police corruption, the Vigilance Bureau has arrested an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posted at the Jaito police station in Faridkot for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 73,500.
The accused, identified as ASI Harpal Singh, was apprehended red-handed following a complaint lodged by a resident of Tibbi Sahib Road, Jaito, identified as Gurpreet Kaur.
According to the details provided by the complainant, her husband, Lakhvir Singh (alias Lucky), and her mother-in-law, Jasvir Kaur, had been arrested by the Jaito police previously for possession of illicit sedative pills.
