Punjab: VB nabs SI in bribery case
Chandigarh, April 16 -- The Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Wednesday arrested sub-inspector (SI) Harmesh Kumar, in-charge of Police Post Kalwa, under Noorpur Bedi police station, in Rupnagar district, while accepting a bribe of Rs 80,000 from a complainant.
An official spokesperson of the VB said the arrest came after a complainant of village Toora, in Phillour Sub-division, Jalandhar district, approached the Bureau alleging that the accused had demanded
illegal gratification.
