Phagwara, June 18 -- The Punjab State Women Commission (PSWC) has sought a full inquiry from the district administration under urgent timelines after a video showing an elderly woman being assaulted in Jalandhar's Nakodar area surfaced on social media.
The video, which quickly went viral, prompted the Commission to step in.
The incident, which occurred in Raipur Gujran village, shows a man Gurjeet Singh and an unnamed woman-brutally beating a senior citizen. The footage sparked outrage across social media platforms, leading to widespread calls for justice.
Acting under Section 12 of the PSWC Act, 2001, Commission Chairperson Raj Lali Gill took suo motu cognisance of the incident and issued firm instructions to the local administration....
