Punjab: Farmer leaders taken into custody ahead of 'morcha' at Chandigarh
Chandigarh, March 4 -- Ahead of Sanyukt Kisan Morcha (political) and other organisations protests
at Chandigarh, farmers' leaders were taken into custody on Tuesday morning.
A report from Phagwara said that farmers' leaders were picked up by the police in Phagwara and Kapurthala as early as at 4 am in the morning.
A meeting was called by the Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann with farmer leaders on Monday evening. Balbir Singh Rajewal among other farmers' leaders were present at the meeting. However, the Chief Minister midway left the meeting after talks failed.
