Chandigarh, March 25 -- Lt. Gen. Mohit Wadhwa, Western Command Headquarters, on Tuesday said there was a need for a fair and honest investigation in a transparent and time-bound manner to punish the guilty in the case of assault on Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath by Patiala police personnel.
Addressing the media Lt. Gen. Wadhwa said that the Punjab police have regretted the undesirable actions on the part of their personnel. They have identified the policemen involved and issued their immediate suspension as well as transfer out of Patiala.
He said that an FIR on the complaint of the colonel was registered by civil lines police station and the probe was now being undertaken by a special investigation team led by ADGP.
