Chandigarh, March 14 -- Three persons, including a police constable and a homeguard volunteer were killed when a speeding car rammed into a police ''naka'' at Zirakpur in Punjab on Friday.

Sources said Chandigarh police constable Sukhdarshan, Homeguard volunteer Rajesh and others were at naka and checking vehicles. They had stopped a car for checking. In the meantime, a speeding car first hit the car which was stopped and later crushed the three persons.

The third person has been identified as the driver of the car, stopped by the police.

The sources also said that Senior Superintendent of Police Kanwardeep Kaur reached the spot. An investigation is underway. UNI GS CS
