Chandigarh, May 28 -- The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested Mohinder Singh, sub-divisional officer (SDO) of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), Nabha, while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000, a vigilance spokesperson said on Wednesday.

The spokesperson said the arrest was made following a complaint lodged by a resident of village Pedhan in Patiala. He said the complainant has approached the VB alleging that the accused demanded Rs 70,000 for transferring two tubewell connections in the names of complainants, but the deal was settled for Rs 50,000.

In another case VB arrested Hardeep Singh, Lineman, PSPCL, posted at sub-division Jastarwal, Amritsar district for accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000.
