Chandigarh, Aug. 11 -- The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), continuing its crusade against corruption in the state, apprehended 10 government officials red-handed while accepting bribes in eight separate trap cases during July.

Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the VB said the Bureau is making sustained efforts to eradicate corruption among public servants and others across all spheres.

The spokesperson informed that the Bureau filed challans in 28 vigilance cases in various competent courts last month.

In addition, six vigilance inquiries were registered to thoroughly probe corruption-related complaints. The VB also registered eight criminal cases against 13 accused, including nine government employees.
