Chandigarh, June 17 -- The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) has arrested a dismissed Naib Tehsildar Varinderpal Singh Dhoot of village Dhoot Kalan, in Hoshiarpur, for amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, an official said today.
The state VB spokesperson said the arrest follows a vigilance enquiry conducted by Jalandhar range, which investigated allegations of Dhoot accumulating wealth beyond his legitimate earnings, both in his own name and through family members.
