Chandigarh, Oct. 10 -- In a landmark move, Punjab Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr Balbir Singh today unveiled the pioneering "Punjab State Mental Health Policy" to mark World Mental Health Day.
The transformative initiative, fulfilling the desire of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is aimed at promoting mental well-being and ensuring access to quality mental health care for all in Punjab.
"On World Mental Health Day, Punjab is taking a historic step toward ensuring that mental well-being truly becomes everyone's right," Dr Balbir Singh said. He added that the policy, together with the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojana, is proof of the Punjab government's commitment to the physical, mental, and social well-being of every person.
