Thiruvananthapuram, Sept. 25 -- In a landmark first step, Punjab has approved the supply of 30,000 Holstein Friesian (HF) semen doses and 60,000 Murrah buffalo semen doses to Kerala.
This initiative marks the beginning of a high-impact collaboration aimed at enhancing the genetic quality of cattle and buffalo populations.
The programme is expected to boost milk and meat yields, improve livestock productivity, and increase farmers' incomes across the State.
The agreement was finalised during a high-level inter-state meeting in Punjab, co-chaired by Kerala Animal Husbandry Minister J Chinchurani and Punjab Minister for Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries, Gurmeet Singh Khudian.
