Chandigarh, Nov. 24 -- In a moment of pride for Punjab, shooter Mahit Sandhu from village Dhippanwali in Fazilka district set a new world record and claimed a gold medal at the Summer Deaflympics held in Tokyo, Japan.

Competing in the 50m Rifle Three Position event, Mahit delivered a remarkable performance that brought honour to her family, her district and the entire state.

Her family shared that they always believed in her dedication and are proud that she has represented Punjab at a global level with such success. The victory has sparked widespread celebrations in the village where residents are overjoyed with her achievement.
