Srinagar, Aug. 2 -- The Court of Fast Track POCSO Cases, Srinagar, has initiated proclamation proceedings against a resident of Punjab.
The proclamation proceedings was initiated under Section 82 CrPC against Gurpreet Singh of Fateh Jalal, Jalandhar, in connection with the 2021 FIR registered under section 363, 376 IPC & 3/4 POCSO Act in Police Station Khanyar. The sections deal with offenses related to kidnapping and sexual assault, particularly those involving children.
Police said his appearance in the Court is required and to answer charges framed against him.
"Failure to appear may lead to further legal action against the accused person," they said.
