Chandigarh , Aug. 22 -- Punjab Police have issued an urgent advisory following a surge in complaints about individuals collecting personal documents, including Aadhaar cards, voter IDs, and PAN cards, under the guise of enrolling people in government schemes.
These individuals, some claiming affiliation with a political party, are reportedly charging commissions to facilitate government-related work.
According to a spokesperson for Punjab Police, several residents have reported that their bank accounts were drained after sharing personal details with these individuals. Authorities are investigating the complaints and have promised strict legal action against those involved.
