Chandigarh, Aug. 22 -- The Punjab Police said today that they have received multiple complaints within the past 24 hours about individuals impersonating as members of a political party. The accused are allegedly collecting citizens' personal data and extorting money in the form of commissions by promising to facilitate government-related work.
A Punjab Police spokesperson stated that some complainants had shared their bank account details with such persons, after which their accounts were completely emptied.
