Chandigarh, July 31 -- In a major development in the high-profile Colonel Bath case, Punjab Police has started stringent action against the accused police officers. Following a departmental inquiry led by Patiala's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Varun Sharma, the following decisions have been enforced:
The accused officers' service period of three years has been forfeited and no salary increments will be granted for the next three years. No promotions will be allowed for the next three years. The suspension of the accused officers will continue until the court case is resolved.
The officers will be posted outside Patiala.
