Chandigarh, March 23 -- In a major blow to cross-border drug trafficking, the Counter Intelligence (CI) wing of Amritsar Police has dismantled a significant smuggling module with the arrest of two operatives and the seizure of 5 kg of heroin.
Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav confirmed the arrests, identifying the accused as Maninder Singh of Khatrai Khurd and Gurjant Singh from Phirwaria, Amritsar.
The operational details shared by the DGP revealed that the arrests were the result of a coordinated sting based on specific intelligence.
