New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- The Punjab Police have initiated legal action by registering multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) targeting over a hundred social media handles for posts containing alleged unlawful content directed at the Chief Justice of India(CJI).

According to an official police spokesperson, the complaints, received across various districts, flagged content that included caste-based vilification and intentional intimidation. The police stated that the nature of the posts indicated a propensity to provoke violence, promote feelings of enmity and hatred and erode respect for the constitutional office.
