Chandigarh, Aug. 30 -- In a sustained effort to combat drug trafficking under the "Yudh Nashian Virudh" campaign, Punjab Police conducted raids at 360 locations across the state on Saturday, marking the 182nd consecutive day of the initiative launched by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann.

The operation led to the arrest of 65 drug smugglers and the registration of 53 FIRs, bringing the total number of arrests to 27,663 over the campaign's duration.

The raids resulted in the seizure of 1.2 kg of heroin, 650 grams of opium, 150 intoxicant tablets/capsules, and Rs 600 in drug-related cash from the suspects. The operation, directed by Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, involved over 1,100 personnel from 120 police teams, supervised by ...
