Chandigarh, Nov. 15 -- Punjab Police on Saturday said it has averted a possible targeted killing linked to an inter-gang feud after Counter Intelligence (CI) Amritsar dismantled a Madhya Pradesh- based illegal weapons supply chain and arrested one alleged operative. Nine pistols were seized during the operation.

Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav said the action followed specific intelligence inputs generated during the state's ongoing security drive. He said the arrested individual, identified as Arun Singh of Naushehra Pannuan village in Tarn Taran, was allegedly working as a link between MP-based gun suppliers and criminal elements in Punjab.
