Chandigarh, Dec. 8 -- Punjab police have disrupted a Pakistan-backed arms trafficking network operating across the border, arresting six members of the module, including a juvenile and recovering a cache of six pistols.

The action was carried out by the Amritsar Commissionerate Police as part of the state's intensified push to curb organised crime.

According to Punjab Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav, the group was receiving weapon consignments from a handler based in Pakistan. Initial findings indicate that communication with the handler took place through social media channels, where GPS coordinates for pickups and deliveries were routinely shared.
