Chandigarh, Oct. 17 -- In a significant crackdown on cross-border smuggling networks, the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) Amritsar, working jointly with a central agency, arrested five members of an international drug and arms trafficking module.

Officials said the team seized four Glock 9mm pistols, several rounds of ammunition, and two kilograms of heroin during the operation.

According to Punjab Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav, the arrested suspects were working under the directions of a Dubai-based smuggler who maintained close ties with handlers in Pakistan.
