Chandigarh, April 13 -- In a major escalation of its state-wide offensive against organized crime, the Punjab Police on Monday conducted 475 coordinated raids at mapped locations linked to associates of various gangsters. Marking the 83rd day of the 'Gangstran Te Vaar' campaign, the operation resulted in the arrest of 223 individuals.
This decisive drive, initiated under the directives of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and launched by Director General of Police (DGP) Gaurav Yadav on January 20, 2026, aims to systematically dismantle the gangster ecosystem in the state.
