Chandigarh, Oct. 12 -- Continuing the "Yudh Nashian Virudh" (War Against Drugs) campaign launched by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, Punjab Police today carried out coordinated raids at 315 locations across the state.

These raids, conducted on the 225th consecutive day of the anti-drug drive, led to the arrest of 56 drug smugglers and the registration of 40 First Information Reports (FIRs). With these arrests, the total number of drug smugglers apprehended has reached 32,732 in 225 days.

The day's raids also resulted in the recovery of 156 grams of heroin, 200 grams of opium, 357 intoxicant tablets/capsules, and Rs 1,600 in drug money from the possession of the accused.
