Chandigarh, May 1 -- : Punjab Cabinet Minister for Local Government, Industries, and Power, Sanjeev Arora, has issued a stern directive to Municipal Corporation Commissioners and Additional Deputy Commissioners to implement immediate and results-oriented measures to tackle the rising stray dog menace across the state.

Categorizing the issue as a critical public health and safety concern, the Minister emphasized that the proliferation of stray animals in urban and semi-urban regions has significantly compromised the daily lives and security of citizens.

During a high-level review, Arora highlighted the increasing frequency of dog bite incidents and aggressive attacks on vulnerable groups, particularly children and the elderly.
