Chandigarh, Nov. 24 -- Punjab's ongoing crackdown on narcotics under the campaign "Yudh Nashian Virudh" marked its 268th consecutive day with a fresh series of raids that led to the arrest of 87 drug smugglers across the state.

The coordinated operation, carried out on Monday, resulted in 67 FIRs and the recovery of heroin, opium and other intoxicants.

According to officials, Punjab Police teams raided 325 locations across multiple districts. The seizures included 304 grams of heroin, one kilogram of opium, 484 intoxicant tablets, along with Rs 2,910 suspected drug money recovered from the accused. With the latest arrests, the total number of drug smugglers detained during the 268-day campaign has climbed to 37,875.
