Chandigarh, Aug. 7 -- In a move aimed at fostering rehabilitation, the Punjab Government has granted early release to 108 prisoners serving life sentences over the past year, citing their exemplary conduct during incarceration.

Punjab's Minister of Jails, Laljit Singh Bhullar, highlighted that this initiative reflects the state's commitment to offering second chance to inmates who demonstrate positive behavior and meet the criteria for early release.
