Chandigarh, Sept. 4 -- The Punjab government has allocated Rs 71 crore to address the widespread devastation caused by recent floods, focusing on immediate relief and long-term recovery for affected communities, with a special emphasis on farmers who have suffered significant crop losses.

According to Revenue, Rehabilitation, and Disaster Management Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian, the state initially released Rs 35.50 crore to all districts, followed by an additional Rs 35.50 crore for 12 of the hardest-hit districts.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann's administration is prioritising swift compensation and rehabilitation to support flood-affected residents.
