New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, today laid the foundation for setting up playgrounds in 3,100 villages across the state, framing the initiative as a key part of its campaign against drug addiction.
Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal, who attended the event, stated that while large stadiums have been built in cities over the past 75 years, no previous government had focused on constructing playgrounds for youth in villages.
He announced that the new sports grounds would be modern and equipped with facilities for volleyball, football, hockey, and athletics.
