Chandigarh, Dec. 12 -- The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday heard Amritpal Singh's plea seeking permission to attend the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament. During the hearing, the court made it clear that it does not have the authority to direct the presence of an undertrial or detainee in Parliament.
In its detailed response, the Punjab government submitted that permitting the Khadoor Sahib MP to attend the session could pose a major threat to national security.
The state also levelled serious allegations, stating that Amritpal had been in touch with anti-social elements, gangsters, and Khalistani-linked groups, and was allegedly involved in plotting the murder of 15 individuals. Officials informed the court that an alert reg...
