Chandigarh, Sept. 3 -- All 23 districts of Punjab are grappling with severe flooding triggered by relentless heavy rainfall.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall in multiple areas today, urging residents to remain vigilant.
According to state authorities, approximately 1,400 villages across Punjab have been impacted by the floods. Gurdaspur is the worst-hit district with 324 villages affected, followed by Amritsar (135), Barnala (134), and Hoshiarpur (119).
The floods have disrupted the lives of over 350,000 people, with 30 fatalities reported so far and three individuals missing.
