Chandigarh, Aug. 9 -- In a significant move to curb drug and arms smuggling, the Punjab government, led by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), handed over three advanced anti-drone systems to the Punjab Police on Saturday, making Punjab the first state in the country to deploy such technology.
The systems were formally inaugurated by AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann in Tarn Taran.
Addressing the gathering, Kejriwal said, "Drug abuse was once Punjab's biggest challenge, with previous governments colluding with smugglers to push drugs into every household, leaving the state in ruins.
