Chandigarh, Aug. 24 -- Punjab's Finance and Excise Minister Harpal Singh Cheema today outlined aggressive steps to recover long-pending excise dues from the previous Akali-BJP and Congress regimes.
The state has already recovered Rs 1.85 crore this fiscal year, with plans to auction 27 properties worth Rs 20.31 crore to further boost revenue, the minister said.
Speaking to the media, Cheema revealed that the auction process is underway, with 14 properties in Sri Muktsar Sahib, Fazilka, and Mansa districts scheduled for sale in early September.
