Chandigarh, Aug. 11 -- The Punjab government has approached the Supreme Court with a review petition challenging the cancellation of the recruitment of 1,158 assistant professors in state-run colleges. The state has urged the apex court to reconsider the Punjab and Haryana High Court's order dated July 14, which quashed the recruitment process.
In its plea, the government has sought permission to allow the appointed assistant professors to continue their services on a temporary basis until a fresh recruitment process is completed.
