Chandigarh, Sept. 29 -- Punjab's Director General of Police (DGP) addressed a press conference in Amritsar today, outlining enhanced security measures to combat drug and arms smuggling along the border.
The DGP revealed that a high-level meeting involving police, Border Security Force (BSF) and senior officials was held to strengthen efforts against cross-border trafficking of narcotics and small arms.
The DGP highlighted the Amritsar police's proactive operations, which have led to the seizure of substantial heroin consignments. A new mobile application was introduced to enable citizens to anonymously report information about drugs or criminal activities, with assurances of complete confidentiality for informants.
